Aims of the Mountain Rescue Service
In accordance with its expertise, the Mountain Rescue Service performs the following specific tasks:
- Helps injured people in the mountains.
- Conducts preventive actions and control, aimed at avoiding accidents in the mountains.
- Conducts search and rescue of missing people in the mountains and transport of injured people at the request of individuals or authorized organizations.
- Performs the education and training of the mountain rescuers.
- Organizes the use and maintenance of the mountain rescue stations and facilities.
Assists in protecting the environment.
- Assists and participates together with other specialized units in the recovery from natural or man-made disasters and catastrophes, according to its expertise.
- Searches and transports dead people in difficult mountain terrain at the request of the authorized organizations.
